Puget Sound Divers exists to find, document, and publish information about the Northwest's underwater heritage.  In the spirit of open collaboration and information sharing Puget Sound Divers is dedicated to expanding access to underwater wrecks and geology so that like minded divers may help document, preserve, and educate others about the world around them.

Through the utilization of sidescan imagery, historical research, and physical evaluation; Puget Sound Divers hopes to bring a wealth of knowledge and access to the local community.

Formed in 2006, Puget Sound Divers has steadily increased its ability to explore the underwater environment.  The area of focus is primarily in the Seattle area and the team actively dives the Puget Sound and Lake Washington.   To date this team of experienced divers has located and surveyed hundreds of underwater wrecks and structures.  Current efforts are focused on the extension of side scan technology, GIS mapping of underwater areas, and survey of discovered targets. 

Funding for these efforts comes primarily through the individual members.  Sound Aquatics is a major sponsor and the primary provider of training and diving equipment.  PerSyst Consulting is the primary financial supporter through the funding of side scan development, search and survey funding, and technology development support.

It is the vision of Puget Sound Divers to encourage the involvement of all divers in their efforts. Wreck locations and uncontrolled access however has been placed on hold due to recent vandalism of two known wrecks.
